Alltech Mycotoxin Management programme receives Star Feed Additive Award

The Alltech Mycotoxin Management programme has won top honors in China with recognition as a ''star'' in the feed trade.
Online media outlet, China Feed Industry Information Network, recently presented the Alltech Mycotoxin Management programme with the Star Feed Additive- Top 5 Mycotoxin Solution award. The award comes after seven phases of online voting and a review by a 30-member expert team.
This was the second award that the programme has received in China following the garnering of the 2014 Double Effect Star Solution award by China Animal Health Magazine.
Since its inception, the programme has been recognised globally, with Alltech 37+® mycotoxin analysis taking a one-star innovation award in late 2013 from INNOV''SPACE in France. Last year, Alltech''s 37+ was selected as one of the Dairy Herd Management Innovation Award recipients at the 2014 World Dairy Expo.
Using an improved liquid chromatography / mass spectrometry method, the programme analyses for multiple mycotoxin contamination in a given feed sample. It provides a risk assessment and calculates the risk equivalent quantity (risk factor multiplied by the quantity of mycotoxin) for the submitted feedstuff sample.
The Mycotoxin Management team then provides a complete contamination report as well as recommendations for management and nutritional applications that can assist with mycotoxin prevention and control.
"Historically, both the analytical and the commercial side of mycotoxin management have focused on identifying and addressing individual mycotoxins," said Nick Adams, the global director for the Alltech Mycotoxin Management team. "However, forages and grains are naturally contaminated with multiple toxins... Through advances in laboratory analysis and solutions-based approaches, Alltech has demonstrated its commitment to identifying, managing and addressing this broad spectrum challenge."
